Mobile Wash and Wax in the Florida Keys: A Checklist Before Your Appointment

Por el equipo de Leoserve

A mobile wash and wax comes to your vehicle, so a few details decide how smoothly the visit goes: where the vehicle will be parked, whether the crew can reach it and what you want done. Our car detailing service covers the Keys from Key West to Key Largo. This checklist covers what to confirm when you book.

Key Points

  • A mobile wash and wax happens where your vehicle is parked, so the location matters as much as the service.
  • At Leoserve, a wash and wax includes washing the rims and tires, tire protectant and a water-repellent treatment on the windows.
  • Our wax is applied with orbital buffers and typically lasts 1 to 2 months in Keys conditions.
  • Properties such as condos, resorts, marinas and campgrounds may have their own rules, so ask before you book.
  • Tell the team the location, the vehicle and anything unusual, and ask what they need from you.

What does a mobile wash and wax include?

A wash and wax is a hand wash followed by a coat of wax, done at your location. At Leoserve, the wash uses deionized (DI) water at every stage and a wool wash pad or car-safe sponge on the paint. We never use brushes on car paint.

Part of the service What it means at Leoserve
Wash DI-water rinse and a hand wash with a wool wash pad or car-safe sponge
Wax Mainly Meguiar's, applied with orbital buffers; typically lasts 1 to 2 months in Keys conditions
Rims and tires Washing is included in the price; tire protectant is included with a wash and wax
Windows Water-repellent application is included in the wash and wax price

A wash on its own and a wash and wax are different services. Tire protectant, for example, is an add-on with a wash but included with a wash and wax. If you aren't sure which one you want, say so when you book.

Where can a mobile crew come to you?

We are a mobile service first. The crew comes to your campground, resort, marina, home or business anywhere from Key West to Key Largo. We also offer in-shop care at our Stock Island location for detailing, paint correction and ceramic coating.

What should you check about the location first?

Check that the crew can legally and safely reach your vehicle, and that you have permission for a service visit. The questions below cover the usual points. Your property or landlord may have its own answers, so these are things to ask, not rules.

  • Permission. Does your condo board, HOA, resort, marina or campground allow an outside service visit at your spot? Ask the manager if you aren't sure.
  • Parking. Is the vehicle in a legal parking space, and is there room around it for a person to walk and work?
  • Access. Is the vehicle behind a gate, in a garage or in a restricted lot? If so, who can open it, and when?
  • Location details. Which address, building, dock or site number should the team go to? The booking form asks for the location of the project, so be specific.
  • Anything the crew needs. Ask the team whether they need anything from you at the site. Don't assume.

What should you tell the team about your vehicle?

Tell the team what the vehicle is, how it looks today and anything out of the ordinary. We work on cars, trucks and bikes, and the answers help the crew plan the visit.

  • The vehicle. Car, truck or bike, and roughly how large.
  • The condition. Heavy salt, sand, sunscreen or bugs? Mention it, so the team can plan for it.
  • Wheels and paint. Tell us about unusual wheel finishes, curb scrapes, chips or faded panels.
  • The interior. Say whether you want it cleaned too. Don't assume a wash and wax covers it.

A wash and wax protects paint that is in good condition. For sun-faded or scratched panels, ask about paint correction, which is one of our specialties. We will tell you honestly what can be done.

How far ahead should you book?

In high season we are usually booked 1 to 2 days ahead. We work seven days a week, 8 AM to 6 PM, so call if you need a particular day. The service request form asks for:

  1. Your name and phone number
  2. An email address, if you want to leave one
  3. The location of the project
  4. What we are cleaning (car, RV, boat, house or other)
  5. Your preferred date and time

Estimates are free.

How often should you repeat a wash and wax?

Wax typically lasts 1 to 2 months in Keys conditions, so plan around that window. If your car isn't on a biweekly or monthly maintenance plan, we recommend a full detail every 1 to 2 months. Salt air makes regular washing matter, and our guide to washing a car to prevent rust in the Florida Keys explains why.

What should you ask when you book?

Short answers beat assumptions. These questions help the team match the visit to your vehicle and your spot:

  1. Is this a wash or a wash and wax, and what does it include for my vehicle?
  2. Is tire protectant included, or is it an add-on?
  3. Do you need anything from me at this location?
  4. Do I need to be there, or can I leave access for the crew?
  5. Does my property need to approve the visit first?
  6. Should I consider paint correction for faded or scratched areas?

Ready to book? Book your service and tell us where the vehicle will be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be there during a mobile wash and wax?

It depends on the vehicle and the location, so ask when you book. For RVs, we tell customers they can go explore while we work, as long as we have space for the truck and hoses. For a car, confirm with the team whether they need you there for access.

Is wax part of every wash?

No. A wash and a wash and wax are different services. Tire protectant is included with a wash and wax and available as an add-on with a wash.

How long does the wax last?

Wax typically lasts 1 to 2 months in Keys conditions. How long it lasts for your vehicle depends on where it is parked and how it is used.

Can you come to my marina, resort or campground?

Yes, anywhere from Key West to Key Largo. Check with the property first, because some places have their own rules for service providers.

Do you wash the wheels and windows as part of a wash and wax?

Yes. Washing rims and tires is included in the price, and tire protectant and a window water-repellent treatment come with a wash and wax. We don't offer rim polishing.
